Tajphone uses VoIP backbone for India Unlimited Calling Plans. This helps our customers to use alternate calling techniques where they are unable to call our access numbers. This means you can carry your Tajphone Unlimited India TalkTime with you when you are outside United Kingdom or while being within United Kingdom. Calls can be be made using a soft phone/hard phone or any other device that supports SIP protocol. This facility is only applicable to the customers who sign up for Tajphone India Unlimited Ultimate subscription.

Hard Phones:

Hard Phones are the IP phones which resemble your regular Landline phones but with a difference. Connect them to your high speed internet connection and start using your Tajphone India Unlimited Ultimate service to make phone calls to anywhere in India. Linksys, Snom, Grandstream are popular manufacturers of IP Phones and Adapters.

Soft Phones:

Soft Phone is a piece of software developed for various operating systems which uses your high speed internet connection to make and answer phone calls. Counterpath, 3CX and Port SIPare popular developers of SIP based VoIP clients.

Other Devices:

These can be your mobile phones or Internet Tablets that support WiFi, 3G or HSDPA. A WiFi enabled mobile phone/Internet Tablet can be configured with VoIP clients like Fring and Nimbuzz which support SIP. These devices come in handy when you are on the move most of the time and have access to wireless hotspots across the globe. Check www.fring.com and www.nimbuzz.com to see if you already own a device compatible with them. Some cellular operators allow thier customers to use the 3G & HSDPA network to make Internet phone calls offered by third party providers like Tajphone. Check with your operator to see if you can make VoIP calls from your mobile phone. With Fring & Nimbuzz, you still can use your Mobile Phone's WiFi to make VoIP calls.

Configuration guidelines for compatible Mobile Phones/Internet Tablets are already are available on www.fring.com and www.nimbuzz.com. Please note that some mobile phones only are capable of MiniFring which does not support Voice Calling.
